Wages in the private sector rose at a near-record high but continued to fall in real terms as inflation remained in double digits in November.Pay, including bonuses, rose 7.2 per cent year-on-year between September and November, reflecting the highest pay growth outside of the pandemic period. Pay growth in the public sector continued to lag behind at 3.3 per cent, while inflation came in at 10.7 per cent in November.The rate of price rises, which has wiped out the benefits of near-record wage rises, is thought to have peaked at 11.
