Two low pressure areas are being monitored inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility on September 28, 2023. (Satellite image from Pagasa) MANILA, Philippines — Two low pressure areas (LPAs) are being monitored by the state weather bureau — one is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but may develop into a typhoon. The first LPA, which is already inside the PAR and was last seen at around 800 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon, may dissipate this Thursday but its trough will continue to affect parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
