Janette Garin, a former health secretary, said on Monday there was no need for people to panic over the Nipah virus which has caused an outbreak in India and killed two people so far. At the same time, Garin called on the government to keep the public updated about the virus and its symptoms without causing alarm. 'There should be actual and reliable information given to the public without being alarmist.
