LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) is going the extra mile as it extends efforts in fostering a safe environment not just for LRT-1 employees and passengers, but also for the communities that LRT-1 serves. LRMC recently sealed a Memorandum of Understanding with various educational institutions in Pasay City as the launch partners for its safety education program, dubbed as ' KaligtaSakay. ' LRMC is piloting a 1-year partnership with Marcela Marcelo Elementary School (MMES), Philippine National School for the Blind (PNSB), and Philippine School for the Deaf (PSD) for the implementation of a safety education program composed of modules on health and safety trainings, emergency preparedness, hazards mapping, and commuter etiquette.
