Imports of Japanese beer have surged but shipments of Japanese seafood have plummeted as the island country prepares to release wastewater from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea.According to the Korea Customs Service, Korea's imports of Japanese shellfish plummeted 34.7 percent on-year last month to 1,910 tons amid fears of radioactive contamination even before the release of wastewater has started.But improved bilateral relations resulted in an explosive 264.9 percent growth in imports of Japanese beer or 5,553 tons.
