Iranian Communications Minister Isa Zarepour announced the successful launch of the Nur-3 satellite into space. The satellite, equipped with imaging equipment, is in a 450-kilometer orbit, he said. A senior official of the ayatollah regime did not specify when exactly the launch took place. Western sources have not yet commented on the Iranian minister's statement. Most attempts by the Islamic Republic to launch a satellite have ended in failure. It cannot be ruled out that the current success is explained by the fact that Iran, in exchange for Russian military assistance in the war with Ukraine, received access to Russian missile technology.
