News Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews this week announced the cancellation of the Commonwealth games in regional Victoria. MILDURA Council says it will leave no stone unturned in trying to secure the region's fair share of the $2.6 billion pie to be divided up following Victoria's shock axing of the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Tuesday. The Victorian Government said the budgeted funding would now be targeted towards regional Victoria and would include more than the planned four regional Games hubs of Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Gippsland.
