France has financed the visit of a French expert to support the Philippines in the ongoing pollution response operations linked to the sinking of the oil tanker MT Princess Empress. Mikaël Laurent conducted a mission in the Philippines from March 16 to 29 on behalf of Cedre (Center for Documentation, Research and Experimentation on Accidental Water Pollution), based in Brest, France. He was supported in his mission by Emeric Faure, Maritime Security Advisor working for the Philippine Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) since November 2022, on behalf of the French government.
