On Sunday, the Tunisian presidency stated that Tunisia and the European Union (EU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic and comprehensive partnership. According to official reports, the MoU was signed in the presence of Tunisian President Kais Saied, the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. According to official statements, the MoU was inked for a "comprehensive strategic partnership" between the EU and Tunisia, with a focus on renewable energies, economic development, and irregular migration.
