MANILA, Philippines — Several parts of Palawan and provinces within Visayas and Mindanao may experience cloudy skies and rain showers this weekend due to the low-pressure area (LPA) west of the country, the state weather bureau said on Friday. Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that the LPA located 75 kilometers west-northwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan still brings thick cloud bands over waters west of Western Visayas and over the landmass of Zamboanga Peninsula.
