MANILA, Philippines— A Chinese student alleges she was raped by a hotel butler at a luxury resort in Fari Islands in Maldives. She was allegedly on a solo trip in mid-June, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP). The victim detailed on Twitter the incident that allegedly happened at Ritz-Carlton hotel. She said Chinese Embassy in the Indian Ocean had already contacted local authorities to call for an investigation. A member of the Ritz-Carlton's marketing team, who requested anonymity, confirmed to SCMP that a police probe into the incident has begun.
