As 11.6 million new college graduates flood China's depressed job market this summer, more students have returned from overseas study only to find the prospects for employment and pay increasingly gloomy. That's according to two recent surveys of international students who are looking for work as China's unemployment rate among 16- to 24-year-olds hits record highs. They found that while a growing number of Chinese students are returning to the mainland after completing their studies abroad, competition for jobs is fierce and salaries on offer are not only declining but falling short of their expectations.
