Sime Darby Beyond Auto continues to expand the BYD brand in Malaysia by opening two new outlets in the states of Penang and Johor Bahru. Modelling after many EV carmakers' modus operandi in other countries, the two new BYD locations are integrated directly into shopping malls – Gurney Plaza in Penang, and Mid Valley Southkey in Johor – instead of the traditional standalone outlets usually seen here in Malaysia. The new outlets are '1S centres', which means they are merely a showroom floor for display and sales.
