The icy wind, common in the Bolivian altiplano, does not stop the dozens of people who travel about 12 kilometers from La Paz to La Cumbre, at 4,700 meters above sea level, to ask the achachilas, the wise protectors, for prosperity and health at the beginning of the month of Pachamama. People, especially families and workers, got up at dawn or spent the night in La Cumbre, in the department of La Paz, to welcome the first day of August, the Month of Mother Earth in Bolivia.
