MANILA -Unfavorable weather conditions slashed the volume of local catch delivered to all regional fish ports in the past month, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) said. In a report, the PFDA said that fish unloading volume hit 42,814.9 metric tons (MT) in May, a decrease of 11.84 percent from 48,563.31 MT in the same period a year ago. On a monthly basis, the figure was also 4.26 percent lower than 44,721.05 MT recorded in April. The May fish unloading volume reflected a downturn for three consecutive months this year.
