CITY OF CALAPAN — An alleged former communist rebel voluntarily surrendered with his firearms and bullets to police in San Teodoro town, Oriental Mindoro province, on Saturday, May 27. This was disclosed in a report from the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) police released Sunday. According to police, 'Ka Deme,' 60, a former member of Milisyang Bayan, surrendered with a caliber .38 gun and two live bullets at 11:40 a.m. to personnel of the 4th Platoon, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the provincial and municipal police.
