CHELMSFORD — A graduation sign stood in the front yard, displaying a smiling photo of a recent Chelmsford High graduate — a bright snapshot of celebration set against the charred remains of the garage and part of the home behind it on Bradford Road. As flames spread Thursday evening, the graduate's parents — the homeowners — were thousands of miles away in Spain, celebrating their wedding anniversary.
