KUALA LUMPUR: The Integrated Operation for Local White Rice at rice wholesaler premises, led by Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Chan Foong Hin in Selangor on Thursday, found adequate supply of both local and imported white rice. In a statement today, the ministry said the operation involved 42 enforcement officers and the police and included the sampling of rice and stock calculations. The preliminary examination results found that all rice wholesaler premises had valid licences within the expiration period, and rice stocks did not exceed the licensed capacity.

PETALING JAYA: With less than two days till the Pelangai by-election, an independent survey has shown that Barisan Nasional has a good chance at prevailing against Perikatan Nasional. According to the survey, Barisan stands a 55.5% chance of winning Pelangai, while Perikatan's chances are 43.2%. The remaining 1.3% voters are undecided. 'Based on our findings, it was found that Perikatan's narrative of change still hasn't penetrated voters in Pelangai, though there is an increase of support towards Perikatan,' said the survey.
