Throughout September 2023, UMW Toyota Motor has sold a total of 9,228 cars under the Toyota and Lexus brands. This comprises 9,020 cars from the Toyota brand and 208 cars from the Lexus brand. The company's total year-to-date (YTD) sales as of September 2023 are now at 76,511 units compared to 70,872 units it achieved in the same period last year. This marks an 8.0% year-on-year (YOY) rise in the company's YTD sales for the first nine months of 2023. Just last month, UMW Toyota Motor gave its Toyota Yaris hatchback an update , which saw the car gaining a couple of features.

The US had been expected to extend a waiver granted to the South Korean chipmakers, on a requirement for licences to bring US chip equipment into China.
