This leaves the total at 6,406 since the start of the pandemic. According to the ODH, the county reported 10 more recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries to 6,178 on Sunday. The ODH also reports no additional hospitalizations for Scioto County leaving the total stays at 479 people that have been hospitalized, over the course of the outbreak, in connection with the virus.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Will Power was wide open around Indianapolis Motor Speedway, unwilling to let off the gas, even when he brushed his car against the wall. His spot in the Indianapolis 500 was at stake and Power, one of the greatest qualifiers in IndyCar history, was not going to miss the show. The 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner was one of five drivers fighting for a spot in the final row of the May 30 race. A Team Penske car never should have been on the bubble, and yet on Sunday, Power desperately tried to avoid becoming the first Roger Penske driver sent home from the Indy 500 since 1995.

NEW DELHI — India has reported a new record 295,041 coronavirus cases, as the death toll crossed 2,000 for the first time. Even with hospitals struggling, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday advised state governments against imposing a harsh lockdown in favor of micro-containment zones as he sought to avoid another economic slump. The surge in India has exacerbated the slowdown in global vaccination campaigns. India is a major vaccine producer but was forced it to delay deliveries of shots to focus on its domestic demand.

NEW YORK (AP) — Kyrie Irving just missed a triple-double despite an awful shooting night, Joe Harris scored 20 points and the Brooklyn Nets regained first place in the Eastern Conference with a 109-104 victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday night. Irving had torched his former team for 77 points in 67 minutes in a pair of victories this season, but this time shot just 4 for 19, missing all six of his 3-pointers. But he scored 15 points, including the finishing free throws with 1.6 seconds left, and added 11 assists, nine rebounds and four steals as the Nets finished a season sweep of the Celtics, just the third in their franchise history.

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Peloton suffered its worst day as a publicly traded company Friday after telling investors that it will likely lose more money than it had expected in fiscal 2022. Peloton thrived during the pandemic, recording its first and only profitable quarters with Americans unable to hit the gym, instead setting up places to work out at home. CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — Thousands of people flooded to Haddad Riverfront Park this weekend for the annual Multifest event. Sunday, the festival entered its third and final day with the same music, dancing, food and message as the previous two days. 'It is important not just to celebrate diversity, but anybody's culture to let them know the history, to let them know what has been done in the past, what we can look forward to in the future,' Multifest Executive Director Tamara Eubanks said. With last year's event canceled due to the pandemic, Eubanks expected a big crowd of people from different types of backgrounds.
