Kampala-based multi-disciplinary design and build collaborative Localworks has built a junior school by using local materials and construction techniques in the town of Sentema, Wakiso, Uganda.Named Mustardseed Junior School (MSJ), the 1,146-square-metre school is built from organically-shaped classrooms, made of earth bags filled with unstabilised earth harvested on site with an undulating roof created from eucalyptus trees.Aiming to create a holistically-designed green school, Mustardseed Junior School is Localworks' first end-to-end design and built project.

Construction details, opening programme and date have been announced for a new cultural building designed by OMA in the heart of Manchester, United Kingdom. Named Factory International, the new 13,350-square-metre ultra-flexible building is set to be opened to the public in June 2023 in Manchester.The design, led by OMA Partner Ellen van Loon, is described as "an ultra-flexible building that will allow for multiple configurations and enable large-scale artistic work of invention and ambition that is not made anywhere else.

The Yale School of Architecture has launched a new scholarship honoring the 2022 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Francis Kéré to support African students studying architecture at the school. Set to begin this fall, the new Francis Kéré Scholarship will be dedicated to support the education of young generation African architects while studying and shaping their career at Yale University . Tosin Oshinowo's studio cmDesign Atelier has built a family house that plays with solid-void relationship and features crisp lines and geometric patterns on it façade in Lagos, Nigeria .  Named Lantern House, the project, designed for a Lagosian family on Banana Island, in Lagos, a private island on the Lagos Lagoon off the shore of the historic Ikoyi neighbourhood. Covering a total of 911-square-metre area, the house consists of a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom, two living rooms and a double-level helical staircase, scattered in three floors.
