Who really has control in this country?
Opinion Jun 20, 2021 DEAR EDITOR: Are you getting tired of the whole cancel culture movement running rampant in our once-wonderful country? I say once because no hard-line actions are being taken to control the flow of illegals, drugs, outlaw gangs, etc., into our country. Ask yourself why, and who is in control. Why aren't Democrat-controlled cities in America, such as Portland, Chicago, Los Angeles and others, cracking down with the force needed to stop the rioting, vandalism and killings going on month after month, instead of calling to defund police? Don't you see and understand what is going on, and why the mainstream national media doesn't report these actions and atrocities? The answer is, they are part of the socialist movement.

No mask mandate planned at Canfield Fair
News Aug 4, 2021 With COVID-19 cases hitting the highest point in more than three months, Canfield Fair officials are worried about its impact on the event, which returns next month, but have no plans to require face masks. 'The concern about the virus is there,' said George Roman, the fair's spokesman and its director of concessions and entertainment. 'It's always been a concern since Day 1, but we hope the cases lessen when the fair returns.' Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the full Canfield Fair was canceled last year and restricted to a junior fair.

News Oct 10, 2021 Submitted photo Chip Barletto, left, and Cory Bonnet are shown with some of the items salvaged from Youngstown Sheet & Tube's Brier Hill Works decades ago by R. Gene Koch. PITTSBURGH — For decades Youngstown Sheet & Tube's Campbell and Brier Hill works turned out the steel and parts that built America. R. Gene Koch, a Mineral Ridge native who lived in Lake Milton, believed for decades that the wood patterns used to make those steel parts were worth preserving. 'Look at the craftsmanship.

All of us must fight violence with faith
Opinion Jun 20, 2021 DEAR EDITOR: Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters or friends — if you know anyone who is doing drugs or playing with guns and running the streets, grab them by the collar and get them to church. They need to stop these ugly sins and get right with the Lord. We cannot let our cities turn into Chicago, where people fear to walk the streets. Once they pull that trigger, it is final and sometimes, fatal. Maybe the city should open up some shooting ranges so they can play with their guns.
