Goldleaf Restaurant, a popular Taiwanese porridge restaurant which has been around since 1971, will be closing on 19 Sep 2022 as they cannot reach an agreement with their landlord at Katong Square over the lease renewal. From braised pork belly, to three cup chicken, Steamed Pork Patty with Salted Egg Yolk and Chye Poh Omelette, Goldleaf Restaurant offers Taiwanese porridge with wide selection of delicious comfort food. Their Chye Poh Omelette is the best that we've had in Singapore, while the Golden Seafood Porridge comes with a generous serving of seafood including lobster, prawns and clams.

Opened by the team behind The Brewing Ground in Joo Chiat, RIANG is a new casual dining concept along Jalan Riang, in the Serangoon neighbourhood which doles out brunch, larger mains, coffee and cocktails. It officially opens to the public today (2 Nov 2022). RIANG is taking over the space by the former Babba (which is also by The Brewing Ground). This came as as a surprise as the now-defunct Peranankan cafe & restaurant only opened in late Feb this year, and it seems too soon to forgot a new concept like that.

JJ Lin's Miracle Coffee, a popular coffee shop in Taiwan, is opening its first outlet in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands on 30 Sep 2022. Established in 2018, singer-songwriter JJ Lin named the cafe, Miracle Coffee as a tribute to his first music documentary film, If Miracles Had A Sound. Miracle Coffee is known for its range of coffee including hand-drip coffee, latte and cappuccino which are served in their iconic blue takeaway cups. It currently has four outlets and their newest outpost in Singapore will be their fifth outlet.

Established in 2012, Flock Cafe is a family-run rustic café in Tiong Bahru which serves a range of all-day-breakfast dishes and coffee. It has just opened a new outlet in the east of Singapore at Tanjong Katong this week.
