Mazda is looking to source more of its components outside of China. This after the Hiroshima-based automaker got hit by supply chain issues and hampered production in light of China's zero COVID policy.A report from Reuters said that while Mazda was able to bring in chips and crucial auto parts from its European and Japanese suppliers to China to be assembled, it was unable to receive those components from Shanghai during the city's lockdown.Mazda's production output slumped 22 percent to 209,000 vehicles.

The Ford Territory has officially reached its 15,000th customer milestone in the Philippines, a testament to its growing popularity in the market more than two years since its launch in 2020.As of September 2022, Ford Territory sales totaled to 15,236 units since it launched in August 2020. BYD is setting up an EV manufacturing facility in Thailand with the goal of producing 150,000 electric vehicles annually by 2024.The 17.9 billion Baht (USD 491.49 million) project to produce EVs in the Kingdom was approved by Thailand's Board of Investment last month. Geely Philippines' sales reached an all-time high in July registering 1,058 units sold, surpassing its previous highest monthly sales record of 1,036 units last March. Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the distributor of Geely vehicles, reported that its July sales represents a 32 percent growth over previous month sales of 804 units.July sales was bannered by Geely Coolray with 540 units (+92 percent vs Jun`22), followed by 396 units of Okavango (+59 percent vs Jun`22). Meantime, the sales of Emgrand and Azkarra were limited to 91 and 31 units for the month respectively, due to supply constraints.

Another Honda rated by the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program or ASEAN NCAP managed a five-star rating using the 2021-2025 testing protocol.
