At its October meeting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved new management regions and regulations for snook in state waters following the final rule hearing.   These regulations, which go into effect Jan. 1, 2024, will: Establish nine snook management regions. A riverside restaurant and bar north of Boston that is known in part for its sandwiches and boozy milkshakes is going to be closing its doors. According to a source (Gary Goldblatt), Stacks in Haverhill is shutting down, with a Facebook post from the Washington Street spot saying the following: It's with mixed emotions that we announce the closure of STACKS, effective at the end of the day this Sunday. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported us since our opening.

The Parade will be Thursday, October 5. The parade will begin at 5 PM from Matthews Field. It will feature the ULHS Marching Knights, the ULHS NJROTC Knight Battalion, school floats, and community floats. The parade route will head downtown from Matthews Field on Hwy 74/E. Main. After entering the courthouse square, it will turn left on N. Church St., turn left on E. Lee St. and then left onto Triune Mill Road. The parade will end back at Matthews Field. The theme for this year's Homecoming Parade is "A Knight's Tale".

La Discotheque in Soho's Wardour Street  opened in around 1961 and was perhaps t he first place to use 'discotheque' as the name for a club in the English speaking world (there had been clubs of that name in Paris since the 1940s). The Soho club earned some notoriety as the 'Soho nerve centre' of 'the purple heart racket' (Times 10 June 1964) but that didn't stop it expanding with other branches opening up in  Oxford Street, Streatham High Road and Peckham High Street.  Not sure of the source of the advert below promising 'The West End comes to Peckham' with 'the accent on Rhythm and Blues, and Twist' to 'Hi Fi Stereo featuring the famous Nite-Sounds': This advert from Streatham News suggests that the Peckham club ('London's most fabulous dancing club') opened in June 1963 and was open every night until 2 am: I found a memory of the club on Facebook: 'Went a fair bit when around 15.

I just can't figure out this guy. Carlos Rodon is a great pitcher, but something is not clicking now that he's with the Yankees... it is crazy to me.  Last night he pitched against the Royals and it was a mess once again.  Did you know that Rodon made history last night? He's the first starter in Yankee history to give up 8 runs and not record an out. I want you to think about that. Yes, it's been a month since I last posted. I was overly optimistic about what I could get done between my long trip and the shorter one I got back from earlier this week. But now I've managed to get through all the display photos I took on the long trip. I didn't document the shade names for these as I was limited in the time I could spend browsing in stores. Speaking of stores, I only went to ones I came across, so it was all Boots and Superdrug locations in London, Birmingham, and Southampton.
