This is the first published photograph of Kincora paedophile Raymond Semple — more than 40 years after he was convicted of serious child sex offences. It is featured in the documentary exploring the disappearances of four Belfast schoolboys and the murder of another dating back to 1969. Semple and fellow Kincora staff members William McGrath and Joseph Mains were jailed in 1981 after being convicted of sex offences at Kincora. Born in January 1922, Semple had two stints working at the notorious boys home, from 1964 to 1966 and from 1969 until he was suspended in 1980 when the abuse came to light.

There are many leisure fishing boats dotted around our coast from Portavogie to Portrush that will provide you with rods and bait for a fish catching expedition. Last Friday night, after an exceptionally busy week, my brother and I headed off in the Causeway Lass boat, based in Portrush harbour, with mackerel in mind.

Glentoran skipper Marcus Kane is backing manager Warren Feeney to cross the Big Two divide successfully. Feeney succeeded Rodney McAree at The Oval last month after the ex-Dungannon Swifts boss returned to Stangmore Park. But as a former Linfield manager, his CV did not go down well in some quarters of east Belfast when his appointment was first announced. Kane had the same cross to bear in June 2012 when he made the same switch from south to east Belfast. Ten years and 383 appearances later, Kane is part of the furniture at The Oval and has joined the pantheon of Glentoran legends.
