South Korea should revise its pension system to provide more support for more vulnerable elderly groups as elderly poverty rates tend to rise with age, according to a recent report.The Korea Development Institute (KDI) published the report on Monday to note that those born in the late 1940s and those in the early 1950s showed different poverty rates, with a staggering gap of 16.7 percentage points.In the report, the research institute divided the country's older population into four groups based on income and property levels - low income and low property, low income and high property, high income and high property, and high income and low property.
