KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): The National Employment Council (NEC) has targeted the creation of 119,964 jobs via foreign and domestic direct investments (FDIs and DDIs) for 2023, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof. 'Based on the commitment and unity shown by all parties involved, the government is confident that the strategy outlined by the NEC will be able to continue the momentum in strengthening the national economy, increasing job opportunities and reducing the unemployment rate,' said Fadillah, who is also plantation and commodities minister, in a statement on Monday (May 22) after chairing the first NEC meeting under the unity government.
