"We will examine, not investigate, find a way to improve to guide us in future so that the same thing will not happen again," he told reporters after officiating the Putrajaya Open Day 2023 (POD 2023) here on Thursday (March 2). According to the AG's Report 2021 issued on Feb 16, overall, the implementation of the federal government's activities, projects and programmes were carried out in accordance with the set objectives, but there were still weaknesses such as the output targets, and the results set were not fully achieved.

Inflation will go beyond 10pct without subsidies – PM
KUALA LUMPUR: The inflation rate in Malaysia could exceed 10 per cent if the government ceases subsidies for essential goods such as rice, sugar, fuel and electricity. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government will spend RM64 billion this year to ensure the people, especially those in the Bottom 40 income group (B40) can continue to benefit from subsidies. He said it was among the government's efforts to reduce the burden on the people, especially with the recent Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) increase.

Ex-PM Muhyiddin: They can charge me but Bersatu won't weaken
KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident that he and his Opposition party will overcome all their current adversities and beat the ruling parties to form the federal government at the next general election. The former prime minister said Bersatu had gone against the odds in the past and not only survived but triumphed, and could do it again. In a lengthy speech at the Bersatu annual general assembly today, the Pagoh MP recalled how the party had faced great difficulty to get official recognition by the Registrar of Societies a few years ago, and more recently had its bank accounts frozen by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on allegations of money laundering.

Could Anwar be zooming in on the ‘untouchables' as part of his ‘hit list' next? BY Joe Fernandez
PERHAPS taking the cue from dictatorial former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has so far shied away from taking civil action against the long list of publicly-known suspects in the bitter battle raging in Malaysia on corruption. Thus far, former PM and Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin heads the list of top leaders facing corruption charges. It's not known whether Dr Mahathir and family - and former finance minister and multi-billionaire Tun Daim Zainuddin - are on a separate list to face civil action.

Deputy Chief Minister II P. All three PN big guns chicken out yet again during PM's Question Time
THE much-awaited moment for the Opposition camp to hear from the horse's mouth whether it is justified to describe the Prime Minister's (PM) recent three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia as both a failure and wastage has passed with no show by three Perikatan Nasional (PN) big guns. Communications and Digital MP Fahmi Fadzil tweeted how the absence of the trio - Opposition leader Datuk Ser Hamzah Zainuddin, the coalition's chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Tan Sri Hadi Awang - has been an anti-climax to the PM's Question Time (PMQT) session which was slated for 10am this morning.

Youth and Sports Ministry to release list of facilities available for use on its website next week, says minister
PORT KLANG, March 29 — The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will release an inventory of all the infrastructure owned and maintained by the ministry on its website next week. Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said this was to facilitate any party to use and obtain the ministry's facilities. 'For example, there are sports associations that are looking for a hall, they can go directly to KBS' inventory website,' she said at a breaking of fast ceremony with the Minister of Youth and Sports here today.
