International Day of the Disappeared observed in DhakaRelatives hold portraits of their disappeared family members during an event to mark the International Day of the Disappeared in Dhaka, Bangladesh, 30 August 2023. The event was organized by Mayer Daak, a platform for the families of victims of enforced disappearance, that has been observing the UN declared International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance in Bangladesh since 2016. The International Day of the Disappeared is observed each year on 30 August, to raise awareness of the global problem of enforced disappearance.
