News Death cap mushrooms are large with a pale yellow-green to olive-brown cap. The Department of Health is advising all Victorians to avoid wild mushrooms, warning that their consumption could lead to death. The department said two particular wild mushroom species, death cap mushrooms and yellow staining mushrooms, could cause gastrointestinal illness, liver failure and death.
