The development of a roadmap for Viet Nam's accession to the International Convention on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co-operation ( OPRC ) was the aim of a National Workshop in Hanoi (22-25 August). Viet Nam's accession to the Convention would mark a significant development in enhancing oil spill preparedness and response in the ASEAN region. Key stakeholders came together to enhance understanding of the international framework for oil spill preparedness and response by raising awareness of the treaty's key elements.
