Outback Pioneers founder, Richard Kinnon, says Longreach is excited to be hosting Storyfest Out West, which is a win for literacy among remote students and a win for the storytelling tradition. In its second year of sponsoring the student literature festival, which will be in town from 26 to 28 July, Outback Pioneers says the festival helps give remote and Distance Education students some of the same opportunities as their city counterparts. The festival, run by Somerset Storyfest which is a charity based on the Gold Coast , forms part of the organisation's regional programme.
