When she could not be located or contacted, she was reporting missing to officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries to locate her. Police and family hold concerns for her welfare due to her age; she is believed to be with her five-month-old girl. Mariam is described as being of African appearance, with a medium build, long, plaited dark-and-lightened braids, and dark eyes.
