As part of its celebrations for Independence Day, the Philippine embassy in Singapore is holding a Food Trek where the public is invited to visit Filipino restaurants and food outlets in the 'Lion City.' Ambassador Medardo Antonio Macaraig must be applying the age-old wisdom that the way to a people's heart is through the stomach! The Food Trek, according to Vice Consul Joy Lai, is a celebration of the growing Filipino food and beverage community in Singapore. She adds that everyone is invited to explore the flavors of the Philippines, 'whether it is through traditional Filipino fare, a mix of culinary styles or as (simply using) the special ‘Made in the Philippines' ingredient to complete the flavor of international cuisines.
