The New York Mets won't bring back manager Luis Rojas for 2022 after declining his contract option, the team said on Monday. The Mets have offered him a chance to remain with the club "in a yet to be determined capacity."Rojas, 40, went 103-119 in two seasons as manager. New York went 77-85 in 2021, and just 29-45 in the second half after entering the All-Star Break in first place in the National League East. New York fell from first to third place during a 9-19 August."These decisions are never easy, but we feel a change is needed at this time," Mets president Sandy Alderson said in a statement.
