Mitchell Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a series of arson incidents, including two large grass fires, earlier this year. These incidents include: • A fire in Moranding on the Northern Highway, where hay bales were allegedly set on fire near a property about 5am on 3 February. • A suspicious fire on Broomfields Road in Northwood about 3.45pm on 17 February. It is alleged the fire was deliberately lit, before it spread about 1200 metres towards Cowles Road. The blaze impacted nearby properties, fences, and sheds.
