MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday announced that no roadworks and mall-wide sales will be conducted in several areas from August 17 to September 10. This is to give way to the upcoming The International Basketball Federation (Fiba) World Cup on August 25. 'As part of the preparations for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, road works (reblocking, utility works, pipe laying, road upgrading, excavation works) in Metro Manila are temporarily suspended effective midnight of August 17 (Thursday) up to midnight of September 10 (Sunday) at the following locations,' the MMDA said in its advisory.
