Tasmania's deeply concerning NAPLAN results confirm that after 10 years in office, the Rockliff-Liberal Government is failing our students, with no plan to fix the deep-seated issues in our education system. As a former teacher, I am deeply concerned to read today that Tasmanian NAPLAN results were the worst in 18 of 20 categories (excluding the Northern Territory), and below the national average in every category. Across all 20 categories, one in seven Tasmanian students need additional support - which is particularly concerning given the fact our education system and hard-working teachers and support staff are already stretched to limit.
