Leeton Shire Council has taken a major step forward in the expansion of the Leeton Early Learning Centre (LELC) after submitting its formal application to the NSW Department of Education on Friday, 1 September, for review and approval. With the new classroom and other associated works completed in late August, Council is seeking approval to increase its daily operating capacity at LELC from 68 to 88 places. The application process may take up to 90 days. Councillor George Weston said this expansion project will bring some relief for parents who are seeking long day care for their children.
