The City of Launceston is seeking expressions of interest in relation to the future use of a historic school building at 56 Frederick St, with submissions closing on Friday, November 3. Launceston Mayor Matthew Garwood said he was looking forward to viewing some creative and dynamic proposals for the historic building, which was originally opened as a school on March 2 1836. Ownership of the building was transferred to the City of Launceston in 1885 with the site most recently operating as a childcare centre.
