MANILA, Philippines — Major General Ramon Farolan, the 16th Philippine Air Force (PAF) chief, passed away. He was 88. The PAF said Farolan, who was born August 31, 1934, died on March 31, 2023. No further details were provided. Farolan was a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1956. He also held various significant positions both within the military organization and in civilian government from 1964 to 1986 including Military Supervisor for Customs, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Authority, and Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs, also serving as Chairman of the Board of Examiners for Customs Brokers.
