MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recently issued a memorandum circular, which reiterates the implementation of the Republic Act (RA) 7432 or Senior Citizens Act and states that senior citizens do not need to become registered voters to get benefits from their local or city government. Under RA 7432, as amended by RA 9257 and 9994, Filipino locals 60 years and above are entitled to a 20 percent discount on goods and services from all establishments.
