On 28 August 2023, Janssen-Cilag Pty Ltd voluntarily cancelled COVID-19 VACCINE JANSSEN from the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). The viral vector vaccine was provisionally approved by the TGA on 25 June 2021; however, the vaccine was never supplied in Australia. Cancellation of this vaccine from the ARTG was a business decision of the company, due to no current or anticipated future demand of the vaccine, and follows similar business decisions made overseas.
