The Albanese Labor Government is investing in the future of volunteers by providing $10 million in funding being delivered through the 2023-24 Volunteer Grants program. Community organisations across Australia will share in the funding and will receive grants of between $1000 and $5000 to help their volunteers. The funding may be used to support volunteers through buying equipment for volunteers' use or reimbursing volunteers' fuel, transport or training costs. Minister for Social Services Amanda Rishworth said more than six million people volunteer each year across Australia, freely giving their time and skills to help others and it is important they are supported to make this contribution.
