BEIJING — Avalanches have struck high on the slopes of the Tibetan mountain Shishapangma as more than 50 climbers were making a push for the summit, killing an American and Nepalese mountaineer, China's state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Kiara Alfonseca West Maui began reopening Sunday to visitors just two months after a wildfire devastated the town of Lahaina. Commercial space company Axiom Space announced it is working with Prada to design spacesuits for astronauts. Noosa Council is proud to support Mental Health Month this October by offering a number of free events that focus on resilience-building and mindfulness. Mental Health Month activities are happening across Noosa. Celebrated each year across Australia to coincide with World Mental Health Day on October 10 Mental Health Month promotes well-being for all. "Along with our recurring physical workshops, such as yoga and Pilates, we are offering specifics like Building Mental Resilience after a Disaster, which is scheduled for October 11 at the Cooroy Library, and October 12 at Federal Hall," Council's Community Programs Officer, Angela Romanowski said.

BEIJING  – Oil prices jumped more than $3 a barrel in early Asian trade on Monday, as dramatic military clashes between Israeli and Hamas forces over the weekend deepened political uncertainty across the Middle East. Brent crude rose $3.34, or 3.95 percent, to $87.92 a barrel by 2320 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $86.23 a barrel, up $3.44, or 4.16 percent. Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Saturday launched the largest military assault on Israel in decades, killing hundreds of Israelis and triggering a wave of retaliatory Israeli air strikes on Gaza that continued through Sunday.
