Iran announced the launch of a satellite into low-Earth orbit – •
Iranian Communications Minister Isa Zarepour announced the successful launch of the Nur-3 satellite into space. The satellite, equipped with imaging equipment, is in a 450-kilometer orbit, he said. A senior official of the ayatollah regime did not specify when exactly the launch took place. Western sources have not yet commented on the Iranian minister's statement. Most attempts by the Islamic Republic to launch a satellite have ended in failure. It cannot be ruled out that the current success is explained by the fact that Iran, in exchange for Russian military assistance in the war with Ukraine, received access to Russian missile technology.

Do liberals think the Supreme Court will save us from Trump?
Photo: Andrew Harrer/Bloomberg via Getty Images If you pay attention to recent legal history, you may have been scratching your head in recent weeks as some commentators on the left and the anti-Trump right have joined forces in a dubious, far-reaching attempt to argue that Donald Trump is constitutionally ineligible for re-election. They want to bar Trump from state elections with lawsuits ahead of next year's election, based on a theory that focuses on a largely forgotten section of the 14th Amendment to punish Trump's attempt to overturn the 2020 election results .

New state law threatens Madison County economy
With the stroke of a pen, our state has passed a law that threatens to undo decades of economic development in Madison County. In recent years, more than 13,000 jobs have been created and more than 30 million square feet of logistics/warehouse space have been built near the intersection of I-270 and I-255. It's a 'good' story in Illinois, which is losing population and jobs to surrounding states. So why is Illinois shooting itself in the foot? You just can't make this up. In February, the Illinois General Assembly introduced HB 2682 to amend the Acupuncture Practice Act.

WILLIAMS: Our economy is all about
Housing inventory has been lower in the United States since the market began rising interest rates in 2022. Americans live in their existing homes unless they are relocated by an employer or move to a state with a lower tax burden. Locally, we continue to see that the national trend is being confirmed in our market. Currently, interest rates for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage are around 7%, depending on the lender and the borrower's creditworthiness. A little less than 18 months earlier, the same mortgage term would yield an interest rate of 3.

NEW YORK – A year before the 2024 election, don't expect many new books about the presumptive frontrunner, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. The spate of Trump publications that began six years ago with his presidency has subsided, with Jonathan Karl's 'Tired of Winning' and former White House adviser Cassidy Hutchinson's 'Enough' among the few Trump-centric works to be released this fall. Biden, meanwhile, continues to inspire far fewer publications than his immediate predecessors, whether by opponents or defenders.
