In both instances, I relied on convenient, ready-to-drink cold-brewed coffee. As the water swirled around the grounds they darkened to tan, and the steam developed a sweet, nutty aroma. "Chestnut coffee," he said as he handed over a cup.

Where Art Thou? Head Inside the Studio to See Artists at Work
click to enlarge Courtesy Of Sarah Vogelsang-Card Part of the magic of the South End Art Hop is that it offers a rare window into the everyday occurrence of art making. Open studios throughout the arts district give a glimpse into the creative process — visitors can step inside to witness metalworkers crafting intricate jewelry, graphic artists designing witty prints, oil painters capturing evocative New England landscapes and sculptors shaping whimsical papier-mâché pieces.

The stir-fried noodles topped with chicken, beef or pork belly are also on the menu of the business' newly launched food truck, which made its first outing at the South End Get Down on August 18.
