As Missouri considers recreational marijuana, there's a cautionary tale from other states
Marijuana plants used for cuttings and propagation produce lush foliage at a marijuana growing facility.Marijuana violations have taken more than 10,000 truck drivers off the road in 2022, further complicating supply-chain issues that have plagued the U.S. economy since COVID-19 hit our shores two years ago. That's just one of many side-effects in the ongoing push for the legalization of marijuana. Missouri voters will decide in November whether recreational use should be allowed in the Show Me State.

Financing Southeast Missouri's energy transition
Danny Tetley, a poultry producer and business owner in Oran, Mo., stands beside his solar array and poultry houses. The Rural Energy for America Program grant helped Tetley construct the 150kWDC solar array. When you think of rural Southeast Missouri, what comes to mind? For the folks who call the region home, perhaps it's the 1,000-acre soybean farms covering the back roads on your morning commute or the small businesses where the owners know you on a first name basis. Most people would agree the network of small businesses and agricultural industries are essential to Southeast Missouri's identity and heartbeat, but very few consider how it's all powered, which is rapidly shifting.
