Buyers move on huge long-vacant North Geelong retail site
340-344 Melbourne Rd, North Geelong, has been listed for sale. A landmark North Geelong retail site has become the centre of attention since being listed for sale. The former Melbourne Rd home to Ray's Outdoors has laid dormant for close to a decade after Super Retail Group acquired the Geelong-founded business, and subsequently closed the landmark store. Now, a mix of potential owner-occupiers and developers are circling the property since it was listed for sale by expressions of interest, closing March 30.

Billionaire Elon Musk's rental crisis at Twitter
Even billionaires have landlord trouble. It seems even the world's richest people can get caught up in a rental crisis, with Elon Musk forced to come up with a creative solution to solve a conflict with Twitter's landlord. It's often hard to know what's real, what's not so real or what's satire in Musk's world but he seems serious about wanting to change Twitter's name to Titter, at least on the company's building signage at its HQ in San Francisco. Musk wanted to remove Twitter's sign hanging above the street to do so but according to his agreement with his landlord, it wasn't that simple.

Hotel construction across the Asia-Pacific among the world's least active
The Langham, Gold Coast was opened to guests in June. The Middle East and Africa have emerged as the only regions to increase hotel construction activity over the past three months – and the Asia-Pacific has been identified as one of the worst global performers. New STR research reveals that the total number of hotel rooms under contract in the Asia-Pacific plummeted 4.3 per cent to 904,000 rooms in the third quarter of the year. The Qld pub that's cheaper than an average house in 868 suburbs
Commercial Hotel, Halifax It is cheaper to buy a pub with 12 bedrooms in North Queensland than it is to buy an average house in 868 suburbs. The Commercial Hotel in Halifax is listed for $350,000 — less than a run-of-the-mill house in Bundaberg, Cairns North and South Townsville. And you could buy 11 pubs for the median house price in Queensland's most expensive suburb, Teneriffe. On a 2331sq m block, the hotel is being sold as a vacant possession. 'Love to fish, love beer, room to move,' the listing by Explore Property Cairns agent Belinda Andersen says.
